Formerly known as STANLIB, the company was renamed in 2020 following a significant transformation brought about by a ground-breaking December 2019 acquisition by AME Capital (Pty) Ltd. AME Capital is a Special Purpose Vehicle comprising of Vunani Capital (Pty) Limited, Thobo Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Mafisa Private Investments (Pty) Ltd and the Vunani Staff Share Trust. Vunani is proud to note the resultant 60% ownership by Vunani Capital - a force to be reckoned with across the African financial markets, that is listed on the main board of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). 40% of our shareholding therefore resides with Batswana citizens & management, creating a powerful opportunity for unique, tailor-made solutions with a pulse on domestic activity for clientele in Botswana. This is based on our richly-experienced management team’s thorough understanding of the Botswana landscape, the African financial DNA and a live pulse on the global economy’s impact on our local market activity.

Our work in Botswana is traced to our well-supported establishment in 2002 as a joint venture between Standard Bank Asset Management & Liberty Asset Management. Our heritage presents a solid mark of excellence in our African operations, handsomely earned from decades of economic leadership in the continent.
